Simit Cookies

Materials

250 g melted butter

1/2 Turkish tea glass vegetable oil

1/2 cup milk

1 heaped dessert spoon sugar

1 heaped dessert spoon salt

1 dessert spoon baking powder

3 cups of flour

1 egg yolk

1 dessert spoon nigella seeds

DIRECTIONS

Mix the melted butter with milk, add the other ingredients and knead.

Using a classic rolling pin, roll out a 2 cm-thick dough.

Cut the dough into circles the diameter of a cup, and cut a smaller circle in the centre.

Brush egg yolk on the bagel-shaped cookies and sprinkle with nigella seeds.

Roll out the remaining dough and continue until no more dough remains.

Bake in an oven preheated to 180oC/350oF for around 15 minutes.
