Tranenik (Corn Bun)

Materials

500 g cornmeal

500 g wheat flour

100 g butter

2 cups ayran (Ayran: It is a kind of drink obtained by adding water to yogurt.)

1 tbsp. salt

1 cup lukewarm water

1 cup grape molasses or honey

DIRECTIONS

Combine the cornmeal, wheat flour and salt, and then knead with the ayran.

Spread the dough on a greased baking tray and pour the melted butter and warm water over the top.

Bake in a preheated oven at 200oC/390oF until firm and golden.

Serve hot with grape molasses or honey on the side.
