Ginger Cake

Materials

50 g butter

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup grape molasses

1/2 cup ayran (It is a kind of drink obtained by adding water to yogurt)

1 egg

1.5 cups flour

1 dessert spoon baking soda

1 tsp. ground ginger

1/2 tsp. salt

200 g clotted cream

DIRECTIONS

Mix the butter and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Add the eggs and molasses and whisk, add the ayran and stir.

 Add the flour, baking soda and ginger to the mixture, stir.

Sift some flour into the greased cake tin and pour the mixture.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180oC/350oF for around 30 minutes.

Serve the sliced cake hot with the clotted cream.
